I have lived in Rickmansworth for over 30 years and my two children both went to local schools.
After doing a degree at Reading University, I started my career in Sweden with The British Council then moved to London, teaching English at secondary schools.
After moving to Rickmansworth I worked for Hertfordshire County Council advising teachers.
With a group of local people I was instrumental in saving Watersmeet Theatre when it was to be closed by Three Rivers Council Council in 2003. We subsequently ran it as an independent Trust and founded the Friends of Watersmeet and and the successful Friends of Watersmeet Film Society.
I realised just how much I enjoyed talking to local residents and being able to help; so in 2008 I stood for Rickmansworth at a by-election and have continued to work hard for all residents for the past 12 years .I have also been a school governor at St Marys School for the last 12 years another very worthwhile role.
As a councillor I have always enjoyed being able to help and serve residents.
