Councillor Richard Roberts uses Locality Budget funds to help make a positive difference to lives in Hertfordshire.
Every year, Hertfordshire County Councillors are provided with a Locality Budget to spend on projects in their local area which promote the social, economic or environmental wellbeing of their local area.
Mediation Hertfordshire
Cllr Richard Roberts has approved a Locality Budget Scheme grant of £950 to support Mediation Hertfordshire in the provision of a Peer Mediation Training Programme for pupils in Year 5.
The funding covers the costs of Kings Langley Primary School creating bespoke training sessions for each setting, all teaching materials, and training to support the children carrying out the programme.
Cllr Roberts said:
“Mediation Hertfordshire has been commended for its in peer mentoring through its Queens award for voluntary service and I am delighted to be supporting the charity and its important work as we come out of Covid. Kings Langley Primary school will be a direct beneficiary and I hope the pupils will benefit from this form of engagement. I would also be happy to support other schools in my division if they wish to take up this offer.”
